Pitch Policy
Hello!
Welcome to Notes from the Cookie Jar!
My name is Karen. You've clicked here because you want to pitch me something, and I'm more then happy to listen. However, just to save us both time, please keep to the following guidelines:
-send me a brief, original e-mail, not just a press release. My e-mail address is notesfromthecookiejar (at) yahoo (dot) ca.
-If you wish to advertise on my blog, make me an offer. I work hard here and believe I should be compensated, but I'm fair, too.
-I am located near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and the products/services you are pitching should be available to Canadians. If your product is for kids, keep in mind I have a teenager. Baby products would not go over well!
-I tend to review things that I have bought and tried myself. If I love it, I will write, tweet, and generally gush about it forever. (see examples here)
On that note, it's a good idea to send me a sample, to keep because I only review things I have tried. The review will include:
-a stand alone post with photos and links back to your website. I believe in giving an honest, fair review; what I like, and what I think could be better.
-I will Twitter about the product (currently 2500+ followers)
-the review will also go up on my profile page at Everythingmom.com
I always disclose that I am blogging about a sample product that was sent to me, or that I received compensation to blog about a product.
If I don't like the product, I will e-mail you before I post anything.
I am most excited about products to do with:
- travel
- photography
- gadgets/technology
- home and garden
- food/cooking/baking
- books (although I'm a bit behind on reading, this could take awhile)
